The Functions Pane
When a search result is selected, the Functions pane will show a list of possible actions that you can perform on the selected search result.

Cannot see the Functions pane? It may be that your Functions pane is hidden. To check, see if the right arrow next to the Search pane is in orange. Click on the right arrow to show the Functions pane. Now the right arrow will be in blue, indicating that the Functions pane is open. Click on the right arrow again to hide the Functions pane.

The Functions pane is also used together with Browse My Computer and the Work Organiser, and not just the Search pane. The position of the Functions pane changes as a visual cue to show which pane is currently active.

We'll talk more about how the Functions pane is used with Work Organiser and Browse My Computer later in this guide.
